With no magic and a rapidly dwindling chance of earning her place in the prestigious magic force, she’s left with few options. Desperate to break the curse, Lyla must now find a way to raise the astronomical amount of money required to hire a magical specialist—or, perhaps, figure out a way to lift the curse on her own.
With the help of her loyal (and somewhat unconventional) familiar, Sock—an enchanted burlap doll that Lyla infused with her magic—Lyla sets off on a journey through the shadowy streets and shady dealings of the world, where her magic may be gone, but her wit and determination still remain sharp. Can she overcome her curse, or will she be doomed to a life without magic? The path she takes, and the price she’s willing to pay, is entirely up to you.
